Current seasonal flu vaccines are only partially effective because they target strain-specific surface antigens, which mutate at high rates and thus change seasonally. A universal vaccine presents the highly needed opportunity to provide broad coverage across all seasonal and pandemic strains.

Osivax is developing a next-generation influenza vaccine strategy that combines two complementary targets of the virus: the highly variable surface hemagglutinin (HA), which drives protective antibody responses, and the highly conserved internal nucleoprotein (NP), which drives broad T-cell immunity. By combining its best-in-class T-cell component (OVX836) with conventional influenza vaccines, Osivax aims to harness both arms of the immune system and deliver broader, more durable protection against seasonal and pandemic influenza strains

Afluvax

A next-generation vaccine candidate against influenza A

Afluvax is Osivax’s lead influenza A vaccine candidate, based on OVX836.

It targets the highly conserved nucleoprotein (NP) of influenza A viruses, a viral antigen that shares more than 95% sequence homology across seasonal and pandemic influenza A strains.

By focusing on this conserved internal antigen, Afluvax is designed to induce broad CD4+ and CD8+ T-cell responses

NextGenFluVax

NextGenFluVax combines OVX836, targeting the conserved internal nucleoprotein (NP), with a conventional seasonal influenza vaccine targeting the surface hemagglutinin (HA).

By bringing together complementary antibody and T-cell immune mechanisms directed against two distinct viral antigens, this approach aims to enhance the breadth, strength and durability of protection against both matched and drifted influenza strains.

Flunivax

Expanding universal influenza protection to influenza A and B

Flunivax is Osivax’s next-generation universal influenza vaccine concept combining OVX836 with a proprietary broad-spectrum influenza antibody technology developed through a confidential collaboration.

By targeting conserved cellular immunity together with broadly protective antibody responses, Flunivax aims to deliver broad protection against both influenza A and B viruses.
