Paul G. Thomas, PhD is Professor and Program Head of the Immunology and Vaccine Development Program within the Vaccine and Infectious Disease Division at Fred Hutch Cancer Center, where he also holds the title of Bezos Family Distinguished Scholar in Viruses and Vaccines. He is a viral immunologist with deep expertise in respiratory viruses, T-cell biology, immune repertoire analysis and vaccine immunology. His research integrates quantitative, computational and experimental approaches to understand how the immune system responds to infection and vaccination, with applications in infectious diseases, cancer immunology and next-generation vaccine development.
Expertise:
• Extensive expertise in viral immunology, respiratory viruses and influenza immunology
• Strong focus on T-cell biology, T-cell receptor specificity and immune repertoire analysis
• Experience combining quantitative, computational and experimental approaches to study human immune responses
• Research focused on immune signatures that reflect individual immune history and predict responses to future pathogen exposure
• Expertise in vaccine immunology, infectious disease immunology and T-cell/TCR-based therapeutic applications
